No Punch No Goals No Points

Goal drought continues as United are pointless again at The Oval
The Greenbacks lack of firepower cost them dearly yet again as they fell to yet another defeat, having gifted their visitors a two-goal start United dominated in the 2nd-half but they could not 'buy' a goal despite attempts on goal reaching double-figures.
Returning to the team Fitzharris should of done better on 13 minutes, closing in on goal he flashed a shot high over the visitor's crossbar, that missed chance was soon to be punished as St Ives Town took an unlikely lead, a miscued header from Rowley in a forward area somehow ended up setting in Seymour-Shove who raced clear and into the box to smash a dipping shot over Harrison.
A weak free-kick from Troke on the angle was easily gathered in by Conway as Bedworth attempted to get back in the game, but a blow was dealt to any recovery when Dudley was beaten by Shove-Seymour who's cross was met by the advanced Coulson (3) his header just beating the outstretched arm of Harrison to sneak in low-down at the far post to see The Saints go two-up.
Right on the stroke of half-time United's Hancocks tried his luck from distance, his effort went just wide of the upright. (HT 0-2)
Bedworth started well in the 2nd-period with Steele firing just wide and the same player going very close after good work by Rowe and Troke, but again the home side were guilty of 'no end product'.
Rowley spun smartly but shot wide, Dudley fired over and Troke fired high....more chances missed.
United were dominant but just could not find a likely looking goal, again chances went begging as Steele, Parrott, Troke and Christie all had 'moments' in and around the visitors penalty area.
Conway in the St Ives goal rode his luck on a couple of occasions, a half-punched clearance somehow stayed out of range for United's closing forwards and he then blocked Steele's effort with a straggling leg, in the second-half the visitor's only created one-chance, but The Greenbacks lack of goals came to haunt them yet again as The Saints completed an unlikely looking 'double' over a totally shell-shocked United.
